La Roche & Co Banquiers from Basel and Bank Frick & Co. from Liechtenstein are new SEPA Credit Transfer Scheme participants as of today. All in all, 152 financial institutions from Switzerland and Liechtenstein are connected to the EPC scheme, 121 thereof using the Swiss SEPA payment channel via euroSIC/SECB/STEP2.

New monthly record for the Swiss franc interbank payment system: SIC processed transactions worth more than CHF 7775 billion in September. That is an increase of nearly CHF 2000 billion compared with the previous record in August 2011.

VP Bank and Neue Bank from Liechtenstein's capital as well as the Alternative Bank Schweiz are the new SEPA Credit Transfer Scheme participants as of September 2011. Thus, 158 financial institutions from Switzerland and Liechtenstein are using the Swiss SEPA payment channel via euroSIC/SECB/STEP2.

The Belgium based AXA Bank Europe will be joining the Swiss franc interbank payment system SIC. Thus it will be enabled to process its Swiss franc repo business directly through the financial market infrastructure Swiss Value Chain from the beginning of September 2011.

Sparkasse Hochrhein from Germany will be joining the Swiss franc interbank payment system SIC as of beginning of August 2011. SIC counts 378 participants, 108 thereof from outside Switzerland, mainly from Germany (47), the UK (24) and Austria (24). They use the SIC system primarily for the cash clearing of securities that are traded on the SIX Swiss Exchange and the Eurex derivatives exchange.

F. van Lanschot Bankiers are adhering to the SEPA Credit Transfer Scheme as of the beginning of May. The Swiss branch of oldest independent bank of The Netherlands will be using the Swiss SEPA payment channel via euroSIC/SECB/STEP2.

New daily peak both in the SIC and euroSIC interbank payment system on February 28, 2011: The Swiss franc system handled 5,476,889 transactions, having broken the previous record of 5 million a year ago. The euro payment system processed a record high of 31,925 transactions compared to the previous one of 28,956 from April 6, 2010.

UBS France SA opts for the SEPA Direct Debit Service of SIX Group. Nine Luxembourg financial institutions, five Swiss banks, two each from Germany and Monaco as well as a Spanish Bank are already enabled to process direct debits within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) through the Swiss financial market infrastructure.
